Practice Milestones.
I’m a multi-disciplinary experimental mixed media artist, working mainly in 2D with a range of materials, techniques, and surfaces.
I’ve always had an interest in, and been moved by art, and in 2011 I started painting as an alternative way of finding my voice. After my Dad died in 2012 increasingly I found art essential for my own mental health and wellbeing, and my practice continued to develop from there.
In 2015 I took some advice from a good friend and began to offer some of my work for sale, and in 2016 I embarked on what would become a four year long hidden art project. This project proved transformational to my practice. Initially it encouraged me to make to a regular schedule, and it helped me learn to get better at letting go - both physically and mentally.
In 2016 I joined Arts Network Sutton and in 2019 I started providing admin and project management support for the charity.
In 2017 I was accepted by Carshalton Artists for their first ever open studios event, and I have participated ever since.
In May 2021 I took up residence in Studio 8B as one of the Oaks Park Artists.
In November 2022 I was accepted as a Member of ArtCan.
